Işık, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, meeting pharmaceutical industrialists demand to invest Research and Development more from the sector

Fikri Işık, declaring that a budget in the amount of 100 million liras is ready for domestic pharmaceutical production, announced that the 85 per cent of the expenses in university-industry co- operations will be met. Fikri Işık, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, stated that they will be aggressive to make domestic production. According to the written explanation made by Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, Minister Fikri Işık and pharmaceutical industry representatives came together. Işık indicates their readiness for giving every kind of support for domestic production and they will be much more aggressive for domestic production during his speech. Minister Işık, stating that the budget in the amount of 100 million liras is ready within the scope of Techno-Investment Programme, said it is possible to make interest support payment for the loan that will be used in case of this amount is inadequate.

Işık mentioned about the support for operating costs in Techno-Investment, Research and Development staff and energy supplement and expressed that they are expecting new suggestions from the sector representatives for long term domestic production and their doors are open to the producers. He also drew the attention that he will answer appointment requests related to the future of sector in 15 days and told that ‘’ I quit the other occupations, I renounce sleeping but I schedule an appointment.” He said that they wish to minimize the usage of medications as much as possible.

Işık emphasizes that SAN-TEZ Programme may be used productively in health field and said the 85 per cent of the expenses in university- industry co-operations will be met by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology.
EXTRA BUDGET EXPECTATION FROM THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE
Minister Fikri Işık jokingly asked for a new budget from the Ministry of Finance related to domestic pharmaceutical production and added ‘’ I would like to tell the Minister of Finance that we spend all the Research and Development support budget and have no enough money. I think Ministry of Finance that can be considered as mean will give exceedingly the extra money we demand. ‘’
THE GOAL FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IS 60 BILLION DOLLARS
Işık said that all the expenses such as consumables that will be bought for academicians, travelling expenses is met within the scope of SAN-TEZ Programme and their goal is to reach the research and development budget, in the amount of 13 billion liras, to 60 billion dollars.
