GREAT INTEREST IN THE TURKISH MEDICAL INDUSTRY AT ARAB HEALTH FAIR
Arab Health 2021, the Middle East’s largest medical fair for the medical, pharmaceutical and medical device industries, whose importance has become more apparent with the pandemic, was held in Dubai on 21-24 June. 76 companies from Turkey participated in the Arab Health 2021 fair, which was held for the 46th time this year and whose national participation organization was held for the second time by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (IKMIB). Turkish products were met with great interest by the visitors at the fair.
Arab Health 2021 fair, held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates between 21-24 June 2021, is held with the participation of professional buyers and visitors from many countries of the world. The fair, which was held in January last year, was postponed to June this year due to the pandemic. While 28 companies participated in the fair through IKMIB which held the national participation organization for the second time, 48 Turkish companies participated individually. Turkish companies participating in Arab Health, the largest medical fair in the MENA region for medical, pharmaceutical and health tourism, were met with great interest.
Tugay Tunçer, Ambassador of Turkey to Abu Dhabi, who attended the fair, T.R. Dubai Consul General Mustafa İlker Kılıç, Commercial Attachés, TİM Delegate and IKMIB Pharmaceutical Committee Managing Director Orhan Mutlu Topal visited Turkish companies and conveyed their wishes for success. At the fair, where a total of 76 Turkish companies operating in the medical and pharmaceutical industry took part, consumables, medical equipment and devices, OTC products, and products of increasing importance due to COVID-19 such as disinfectants, masks, personal protective equipment were also exhibited.
Adil Pelister: “Medical material exports increased by nearly 50 percent in 2020”
Stating that the export of medical equipment, which is needed in the fight against the pandemic and whose importance is more understood, realized as 1.3 billion dollars in 2020 with an increase of nearly 50 percent, Adil Pelister, Chairman of IKMIB, said, “Our medical equipment exports are increasing every year. We anticipate that the exports of this product group will increase in 2021 as well. As IKMIB, we held our national participation organization in the fair in January, before the pandemic. We did the second one this year. It will be the beginning of important potential collaborations that our Turkish companies show their power once again in this important fair in the medical sector.”
