Berfu Yazıyurt said the following about her new position: “Pfizer Turkey has a prestigious position in the international arena with the many leaders it has trained. It is the importance it attaches to human development that has earned this company, which I have been working with for 24 years, the title of “leader school”. When we look at the business world, we see that the rate of women climbing the career ladder is far below what it should be. Recently, awareness on this issue has increased a lot; Pfizer is one of the companies that is very active in this field. Working for many years in companies that give importance to equal opportunities, support flexible working and create opportunities for their employees to develop themselves, enables you to grow as a leader who can be successful in any environment. The fact that I was raised in Pfizer Turkey contributed greatly to my taking on increasing responsibilities. Oncology is an area where Pfizer invests heavily in research and development, has a very strong portfolio, and is constantly growing with new launches. As a female leader from Turkey, I am very happy to be working in a patient-centered field such as oncology in my new role.”
