Prof. Dr. Sıddıka Semahat Demir, Chairwoman of the Science Heroes Association, shared her views on the Science Will Win with Young Project: “As the Science Heroes Association, we are happy to start a new project that will bring young people together with science in this special year when we celebrate our 10th anniversary. As a scientist, I would like to emphasize the role of science in solving social problems. Science, with its different branches, contributes to the efforts of people, life and the planet to be better. In this sense, as the Science Heroes Association, we believe that it is very valuable to inspire young people who have the power to shape the future to meet with science and to make efforts to make the world better than it is. We think that the Science Will Win with Young project, which was implemented with the aim of bringing young people together with scientists, will ensure that this inspiration spreads among generations. As a matter of fact, the interest in science and research will form the basis of the bridge established between generations. I hope that the project, which we started with great enthusiasm together with our very valuable stakeholder Pfizer, will be the driving force that will spread the interest in science to all segments of the society.”
Science will win with the young
Regarding the project, M. Cem Açık, Country Manager, Pfizer Turkey said: “Ideas have the power to change lives. When they are truly special, they can save lives. In the fight against COVID-19, the development of vaccines and treatments has been the hope of all of us and the primary target of joint work carried out all over the world. For this reason, we have seen much better in this period the importance of protecting our scientists and the valuable ideas they have developed. As Pfizer Turkey, we work for groundbreaking innovations that change patients’ lives by saying that science will win. We know that because of science, human life cannot win without young people who represent our future. For this reason, we are happy to have implemented the Science Will Win with Young project. We hope that the project will grow by touching more young people and scientists every year and inspire our future.”
