There was a flag change in the top management of Boehringer Ingelheim Türkiye; Okan Güner, one of the experienced leaders of the pharmaceutical industry, took over the leadership of the company as General Manager and Human Health Business Unit Director at Boehringer Ingelheim Türkiye.
During his 20 years of experience in the industry, Okan Güner, who took on leadership roles in many different markets, including Türkiye, Russia and Europe, started his new position as of April 2022. As the General Manager of Türkiye and Director of the Human Health Business Unit, Güner will also be responsible for the development of strategies that will maintain the strong position of the Turkish organization in the region.
Who is Okan Güner?
Okan Güner, who graduated from Department of Chemical Engineering, Boğaziçi University started his career at Borusan Makine. Güner joined Pfizer Türkiye as a commercial payments officer after his MBA from Pennsylvania State University. After graduating from MA Pennsylvania State University, Güner joined Pfizer Turkey as a commercial payments manager, and after gaining experience in different departments of the company from finance to marketing for nearly 20 years, he assumed the Regional Leadership of Pfizer Upjohn Division European United Markets (Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Romania and Slovakia) and later Pfizer Upjohn, he led the financial and operational performance of the division as the General Manager of Türkiye and Russia. Before joining the Boehringer Ingelheim Türkiye organization, Okan Güner was the Türkiye Country Manager of the healthcare company Viatris, which was founded by the merger of Mylan and Pfizer Upjohn Division. Throughout his professional life, Güner has also carried out successful works on excellence in performance, leading localization initiatives, directing complex processes in the field of licensing, establishing successful business models and talent development.
