Berko Pharmaceuticals, which has been producing and working for public health for more than 35 years, took part in one of the 2021 R&D projects initiated by the TR Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) with the vision of a fully independent defense industry.
Berko Pharmaceuticals is proud to take part in the “Next Generation Decontamination Agent Technology Development Against Chemical and Biological Warfare Agents (DEKON) Project”, which is one of the 2021 R&D projects initiated by the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey – Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB). Acting with the awareness that R&D and technology are of great importance on the way to achieving its vision of a fully independent defense industry, Berko Pharmaceuticals became involved in this project.
A signing ceremony was held in Ankara on January 27 for 13 new R&D projects implemented by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) in 2021. SSB officials and representatives from sector companies attended the ceremony where Prof. Dr. İsmail DEMİR, President of Defence Industries and SSB R&D and Dr. Şaduman Aziz, Head of the R&D and Technology Management Department of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) gave a speech. The projects in question are carried out by a formation that includes a total of 24 stakeholders, from universities and main contractors to companies.
Berko Pharmaceuticals; SSB, in cooperation with TÜBİTAK MAM and Sun Tekstil, will develop reactive decontamination materials against chemical/biological warfare areas and toxic industrial chemicals within the scope of the “Development of New Generation Decontamination Agent Technology Against Chemical and Biological Warfare Agents (DEKON) Project”. Taking into account national possibilities, materials developed in this context, will be developed and produced in 4 different formulations: powder, liquid, pad, wipes and cream, lotion.
