Exercises during pregnancy are of great importance for mother and baby health. Exercises that make the mother feel good physically and mentally, especially reduces the problems common during this period such as low back and back pain, swelling and edema and insomnia. Those who stay away from inactivity and exercise regularly during pregnancy increase their chances of having normal births and shortening the pain. Op. Dr. Nilsem Eraslan, Memorial Health Group Medstar Topçular Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, gave information about the importance of exercise during pregnancy.
Movement is essential for a more comfortable birth
During pregnancy, walking, swimming, yoga and breathing exercises do not pose any risk to the expectant mother and help to pass this process more healthy and comfortable. The aim of the exercises is not to control the weight but to contribute to the birth process of the expectant mother. The point to be considered here is the time to start the exercise and the content of the movements. Regular exercise under a doctor-controlled planning will be beneficial for both the mother and the baby.
Stop the exercise as soon as you feel pain
The duration of exercise during pregnancy varies between 30 to 45 minutes and 5 or 10 minutes breaks, depending on everyone. In case of excessive sweating during exercise, heart rate acceleration, waist and abdominal pain, movements should be stopped immediately and the doctor should be informed. Pregnant women are advised to prefer appropriate exercises to relax themselves.
