We made exportations most to Republic of South Korea, Germany, and United Kingdom respectively in pharmaceutical sector while we made exportations to Iraq, Azerbaijan-Nakhchivan, and United Arab Emirates in medical sector.
We observed that the companies serving for Turkish medical sector have increased research and development investments and raised the quality standards. They are also successful at diversifying the countries to which they are exporting. There are some essential works we are conducting, as İstanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association, to improve medical sector exportations. The first work we put into action is Medical Fair, the biggest health and medical products fair in the world. The fair, we are going to realize the sixth one, are going to be realized with national participation in Dusseldorf, Germany in 12- 15 November 2014. Nearly 40 Turkish companies will participate in the fair and hospital equipment, examination system and technologies, diagnosis and treatment methods, current operation techniques, tools and materials will be promoted in Hall 3, Hall 6 and Hall 106, taken 812 meter square space in total. Besides the fair organizations, realized with national participation, we are actualizing procurement and trade committee. We organized a visit to Santiago (Chile) and Sao Paulo (Brazil) respectively in 4-9 August 2014 related to the Chile-Brazil sectorial trade committee we are planning to form oriented to medical and pharmaceutical sector in March 2015. Santiago is the capital and biggest city of Chile, having 17 million populations, and has 7 million populations. Free Trade Agreements, signed between Chile and Turkey brings provisions, which facilitate trading. Sao Paulo is the culture, art, finance and business centre of Brazil, having 202 million populations in total. Even if bureaucratic structure and customs enforcements of Brazil seem to hardening, it is a big and pretty important market in which Turkish exporters should be interested. On the other hand, İstanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association Medical Ur-Ge Project ‘’MediClusTR’’, we are conducting with 43 companies within the scope of ‘’Notification about Supporting International Competition Development’’ is continuing its activities with utmost speed. We are making needs analysis to determine the goals and competition powers in international markets of our companies. Moreover, we are going to visit CPhl Worldwide, one of the biggest pharmaceutical fairs in the world, which is being realized in France this year with the participation of 24 Turkish companies individually, in 7-9 October 2014. We will also continue to work hard in order to increase medical sector exportation in the short term.
